“…it helped me to start thinking of myself as a tool for God…”
Marek Mozdzynski, who attends St George’s in Barrow-in-Furness, on the inspiration he took from an LICC Imagine Day held at Ulverston.
“I’m responsible for backdoor deliveries and behind-the-scenes operations at McDonald’s in Barrow. Attending the Imagine Day at Ulverston with a group from church was a real game-changer for me. In particular it helped me see how God wants me to consider my workplace.
In the past I’ve tended to be enthusiastic about church and enthusiastic about so-called ‘mission’ work, but I’d almost disregarded my workplace as a place where God might use me. I’ve tended to keep a low-profile, just get the job done and get my money. It’s not that I wasn’t kind or thoughtful as you might expect of a Christian employee, but I was pretty passive about it all. But work is a really significant part of our lives, and our approach to church needs to encourage us in that. The Imagine day helped me to start thinking of myself as a tool for God, and gave me loads of ideas. As a church it’s also helped us start thinking about how what we do on a Sunday can support us the other six days, rather than being disconnected.
I’d absolutely commend the Imagine days to anyone. I’m certainly not one to sign up to all sorts of Christian meetings and events. Take some mates from church and see it as an investment, both for yourselves and those in your community who you hope to engage with.”

A key part of delivering our 2020 Vision of everyone discovering more of God is to equip individuals to live lives that clearly reflect their faith in every aspect. At the forefront in making this happen has been The London Institute for Contemporary Christianity.
We are partnering with the London Institute of Contemporary Christianty through the Autumn and Spring 2017 to run a series of day events across the county to help churches engage with this. Find out more from the attached flyers, or contact Evangelism Enabler Mike Talbot.
