How can we best use our buildings for mission, outreach and worship? What do we need to do to ensure they are of benefit to our mission and are not a burden?
These are just some of the difficult questions which will be asked of all of us as we move forward together with God for All. Any decision about a building’s future is one that will be taken locally within a mission community and will not be imposed.
But as mission communities come together so there needs to be reflection and review as to whether the right buildings are in the right places. Again, there’s already been discussion as to how this could work. An ecumenical Buildings Strategy Group has been meeting for the last two and a half years to consider the issue county-wide.
That group and its body of work will be there to help inform and guide individual mission communities as they consider what’s best in missional terms for their buildings.
