God for All envisages a very significant increase in the number of people involved in local ministry, alongside a reduction in the number of stipendiary clergy and a change in their role.
We want to support everyone involved in ministry through flexible, high quality training and development and will communicate ideas for doing this in the coming months. We will involve local lay people and clergy to ensure that what emerges is accessible, relevant and prepares people for the demands of an outward-looking, missional church.
The recommendations from the Church of England’s national “Resourcing Ministerial Education” Task Group could have major implications for how we approach this work. We are also looking at how the partner denominations’ existing resources, including the newly formed Cumbria Christian Learning organisation will support this work.
More information will be posted here as this work develops.
