Cumbria Bible Challenge
Dear Teachers and Church Leaders,
I am delighted to be launching the first Cumbria Bible Challenge for the academic year 2017/2018. The aim of the challenge is to encourage children to explore and respond to the Gospel of Luke. The initiative is being offered to Year 3 students and is designed to be used as part of a monthly RE lesson.
Children must complete eight activities – a new activity will be set each month from September through to April. For each completed activity a sticker will be awarded which will make up part of a bigger picture illustrated especially for us by Christian artist Si Smith. All eight activities will need to be completed to reveal the whole image.
The children who complete all eight activities will be given a special Cumbria Bible Challenge Certificate upon completion. Churches will be invited to support the schools embracing the challenge and will be encouraged to host a celebration event for all students who complete the task.
If you have a school group of Year 3 children who would like to participate in the Cumbria Bible Challenge, click here for further details. If you have already registered your group, all the documents you need can be found below.
We hope you enjoy using the Cumbria Bible Challenge in your lessons and look forward to hearing how you get on.
