Whitehaven Mission Community Launch

An afternoon tea for nearly one hundred people has marked the official launch of the new Whitehaven Mission Community. Messy Cumbria is launched

A special launch event has heralded the start of Messy Cumbria, a fun way of being church for families across the county. More than 80 people from churches across Cumbria and Lancashire gathered near Kendal for the inspirational training day and launch event. East Whitehaven Mission Community Launch

More than 150 people gathered in Gamblesby Methodist Church for a service to launch the East of Eden Mission Community. First commissioning of Cumbrian mission community

Church leaders have officiated at the first commissioning of a mission community in Cumbria.   The Binsey Mission Community covers 250 square miles, taking in some of the Northern Fells, going up to the Solway Plain and the newly created mission community includes 12 Anglican churches and a Methodist chapel.   More than 40 mission communities are to be formed across Cumbria over the next four years and represent a commitment to the ecumenical God… read more
