Building on the vision of the Northern Bishops to hold missions in Dioceses across the north of England, Moving Mountains was an ecumenical initiative, drawing in Methodist, Salvation Army, URC & Anglican churches (amongst others) in March 2018. Over 300 churches, working with 33 teams ran 500 events, contacted 20,000 people (and a further 10,000 pupils), gave away 15,000 copies of Mark’s Gospel, and included England’s largest ever Messy Church. But for Moving Mountains to be effective, it need to be a movement, not an event – so the ongoing work, building on all that happened, is critically important.
