Sign up to Pray24Cumbria!
This year’s Thy Kingdom Come – May 21 to May 31 – will look slightly different due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
Most notably this year we will be encouraged not simply to pray that friends and family, colleagues and neighbours might encounter the love of God in Christ, but that they would experience that love in action: ‘Prayer and Care’. There are so many different ways to get involved.
And as part of TKC 2020 we are joining together as an ecumenical county for a special 24 hour prayer initiative – Pray 24Cumbria – through which people are being asked to sign up to pray at given times over 24 hours.
It is happening between 10 am on Saturday 30 May until 10 am on Sunday 31 May (Pentecost)!
As we know, prayer not only changes us, it also changes situations. God answers prayer… ‘And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people’. (Ephesians 6 v.18)
